| - Worst experience ever!!! We purchased a security system and installed it a few months later. A little over a year after it was installed, the DVR, the base and soul of the product, stopped working. We created a ticket to get assistance with replacing or repairing it. Weeks went by and did not hear back. Finally, I decided to call technical support. I was on hold for more than 2 hours! Called them back, waited more. Then I called customer service and was told that they were going to transfer me to technical support. Unacceptable, I told them. Their product broke just when the warranty expired. If I had known that the security camera system I purchased would only last a year and cost me hundreds of dollars, I would NOT have decided to buy it. The representative put me on hold to see if the "higher ups" could do something to accommodate me. He came back on the phone and said that, if I wanted, they could offer me a DVR base replacement for $150. I asked him if I were to purchase new DRV on my own how much would it cost. He said $150. So their "offer" for all my troubles was the same thing I would get if I went online to get a new system on my own. I wasted almost an entire day on nonsense. If I didn't already have the camera wires through the inside of my walls, I would definitely go with another brand and product. But because re-wiring is just not an option right now, I am forced to get another Lorex product that will undoubtedly be a horrible disappointment. If you are thinking about getting a system from them, think again. I would have been okay if the DVR went down and the customer service representative was able to offer a solution that did not mean wasting more time and money. However, this was not the case. Chalk it up to experience. Learn from my mistakes and just don't buy their products.
