| - It was a "BNO" or Boys Night Out, I guess when you start getting up there in the years, it's no longer "hanging at the Q", or "meeting the bros for some fun", it's now Boys Night Out. Geeze, it sounds like we had to get permission or something. "Just so long as you are back by midnight, honey, and no flirting with the barmaids!" One would think I have a reputation or something.
So anyway, it was a night out with the guys. Since we live practically at opposite ends of the valley, we chose a place approximately in the middle. Q Vape Lounge, it was. When I arrived with my south side partner, the northern boys were waiting outside. We walked up and they gave the big N-O. Said the place was like a vapor-filled cave. Being old-school and non-smokers, we decided to find another place. Enter Bull Shooters.
It's in a sketchy part of town, on 35th Ave and Peoria, but we were committed to our night of fun. Parking away from the crowd, we walked up to find a nice looking Harley right outside the door. It was a sweet bike. We walked in to a cavernous space, filled with tables, bar-sized coin tables in the front, and real billiard tables in the back. Along the wall, dart boards stood at attention, ready for Ton-eighties. Off to the side, there is a poker room, where patrons were playing assorted card games. We got a table assignment and headed back.
At table 28, all splotchy with stains, we setup our rack. Shortly, Stephanie came by and offered to get us stuff. I asked for lemon slices for my tea. She disappeared and we started playing. About fifteen minutes later, I spied her dodging between the other tables and cut her off at the pass. Oh, yeah!, she said, lemon slices. Yeah. And we want to order food. Wings with Hot sauce, a chicken quesadilla and chips and salsa. The wings were small, the sauce was undistinguished in any form. It did come with carrots/celery and ranch dressing. It took like 45 minutes to get all this and a refill on my tea.
Service was spotty at best. If you come here, bring your own stick, as they don't seem to have any. People were scrounging for house sticks all night. It's kind of bad when a pool hall does not have sticks. It's kind of like a swimming pool with no water. Looks pretty, but you can't do much with it. Food was crappy bar food, I'd stay away from it unless you are really hungry. Dirty tables, no sticks, lame service. This valley really needs a decent pool hall, unfortunately, Bull Shooters is what we have.
