There's a cupcake craze that's been going on for ages, but what sets one bakery apart from the others? Unique flavors and an appetizing presentation that makes you eat first with your eyes.
My co-workers and I placed an order a week in advance for a dozen cupcakes. We hopped onto Retro Bakery's website to view their showcase of interesting creations. Choosing flavors can be toughest decision in the ordering process because there's so many delicious looking little cakes. We ended up ordering the Hop Scotch, Big Kahuna, and Coffee and Donuts.
The Hop Scotch is one of their best sellers, and the only cupcake that I tried because it was really just enough to handle. The cake part is moist, but the thick, generous swirl of butterscotch flavored icing on top was none that I tried before. It's also *very* sweet and rich. I can't speak about the other flavors, but my co-workers each liked their picks.
Cupcakes cost a little over $2.00, and a dozen is $29.00. I can't compare the pricing to other bakeries because I don't usually go out of my way to buy cupcakes, but I think the price seems reasonable for these sweet indulgences.
