| - Cute family- owned and run joint in a non-descript strip mall. Lots of locals here. The food was good, the wait not so bad, the service was friendly, however the delivery was a little haphazard. Dishes came out as they were ready, so apps came after some entrees, one entree came out waaay before everyone else's, and a different server each time so no one knew if we had ordered these dishes or not, some were for other tables. No biggie, but still. They should know what dishes belong to what tables at least.
We ordered
Shrimp Spring Roll: (with and without pork) Not the most flavorful I have had, and the rice wrapper was a bit gummier than I like, filing was very dry- but the sauces were very flavorful (loved the peanut one) and livened them up a bit. I probably wouldn't order this again.
Eggroll: Enjoyed these - crunchy fried and good flavor, piping hot. We all liked this.
Ga Pho (Chicken): Extremely light broth- too light? a bit flavorless- but the noodles and veggies were very fresh and abundant. Piling on all the accoutrements helped- along with a solid dose of that chili paste! I guess I am used to a more assertive, saltier pho broth.
Garlic Noodles with Vegetables & Tofu (may have been named "Stir Fry w Vegetables" on menu): Ordered with thin rice noodles (I love your choice of noodle for every dish- egg or rice, thick or thin) and everyone LOVED it- was really the star of the table along with the Banh Mi. Server came by after and recommended the thicker rice noodle with this dish- will do if I return :)
BBQ Pork Banh Mi: Absolute perfection. For $3.00, this is the best sandwich I've had in a long time. Tender, flavorful BBQ pork sliced thin, pickled carrots and fresh, crunchy veggies, excellent, flakey and tender french bread. Perfect balance, every bite divine. I would order this again in a heartbeat.
Broken Rice with Beef and Pork: Very flavorful dish, pork pieces were very thin and fried- were these tendons or skin? Kinda weird, but the beef was nice, one bigger piece sliced and served atop the rice.
I'd be ever so grateful if you could click on useful, funny or cool if it applies. Happy Yelping!!
