| - My mother recently spent a good deal of time in the ICU of this hospital. The experience ranged from fantastic, to horrible. Both LaDonnas in the ICU are wonderful, as is Jennifer, Dana and Joan.
Lance, Nick and Robert (?) should be fired. Extremely unprofessional. Lance talked a lot of pot, even telling my 81 yr old mother to ''picture a huge bong'' when she was asked to breath deep. He also called some of the patients on this floor vegetables. I have never seen neglect to this magnitude. I felt bad for the people he was taking care of, if they were alone, since Lance can't seem to handle even 2 rooms with single patients in them. Nick needs to get over himself. He ''rapped'' on my mothers door twice with the thermometer, we asked him to knock softly. He never did. Even when she was put on Compassion Care Nick would come in, take her temperature and say in a sing-song voice ''No temperature! That's good!'' My mother was dying. Her temperature had nothing to do with anything. Nick is filled with himself, and no compassion for his patients, or the families of those patients.
I was made to wait in a waiting room while they took my mother back down to ICU from the second floor, she wasn't doing well. I asked to wait by her bedside but was told no, to wait in the waiting room and someone would come get me in a few minutes. Not only did I wait 2 hours, but I kept hearing ''CODE BLUE IN THE ICU" and was afraid my mother was dying without me. Every time the doors to the ICU opened I could see my mother laying on a bed, IN THE HALLWAY, completely unattended. They left me waiting 2 hours, and only after I asked what was going on did they acknowledge they totally forgot about me. Javier, should be fired. Robert (?) is a bully and over confrontational. I will never forgive them for the way they responded to this situation. They should be ashamed of themselves but considering how rude and unprofessional they are I doubt they feel anything.
All over this hospital, from the plaques on the walls to the inscriptions in the rooms, speak of dignity and compassion. I got very little of this at St. Rose Dominican. But I did get ignored, bullied, forgotten and belittled. I wouldn't go back to this hosptial if I was mowed down in the street directly in front of it.
