I'd give the hospital at least a 4 star for the help they give patients and five for the staff - but this review is for the parking conditions.
The site is undergoing massive renovation and so Step #1 was to remove all easily accessible parking for patients and visitors with limited mobility, fail to put up sufficient guide arrows in the rabbit warren of tunnels through the buildings and fail to have directional indicators for pedestrians from the West Parking to the main building.
The West Parking is poorly lit for less mobile friends and family. Although the lighting in the parking areas is like high noon in comparison with the stairways.
The pay before using system is of no use to emergency visitors who have 1/3 hr to 10 hour wait to sign up/wait to see doctors/wait to be treated times. True you can buy weekly or monthly passes. At least have parking machine in the Tom Baker, SSB or main Bldg and Emerg so you can get more time on your ticket. One might almost thing the strategy is to make you overestimate the time you need so the spaces can be "overbooked" thanks to those folks who get to leave quicker than they thought.
Was talking to a spouse of a cancer patient who had to leave is wife at the door, search for a parking spot, and walk back, for half an hour as the patient drop off areas are inadequate.
Take a caab if you have a non-oozing or bleeding reason to go. You'll save wear and tear on your nerves, realize a saving if you count the TVM and be in a better mood as you wait.
