Went here when this place had their anniversary week and all food for dinner was 50% off. I walked by this place several times. Scoped out the menu but was too afraid to commit due to the price and my lack of success with Asian food let alone sushi in Scottsdale. I'm from Seattle where grade A sushi is sold from grocery stores.
This place did not disappoint. Their wide selection of fresh fish is impressive along with their A5 wagyu beef. The New Zealand King salmon melted in your mouth as well as their thick slices of sashimi (yellow tail, tuna toro, snapper) gave you the perfect amount of balance of flavor on your tongue. If you're not into raw fish, their japanese fried chicken is crispy and juicy-you really don't even need the aioli that comes with it.
I did also have their BBQ short ribs that were supposed to be Korean style. It wasn't bad but it was doused in a lot of sauce and a bit too salty for my liking. I typically like short ribs dried and grilled without being sauced.
Service was impeccable. Rene was very knowledgeable of the menu and did a great job describing the seafood items and the chefs preparation of each item. Having worked at upscale restaurants before, I'm truly impressed by this individual.
Overall good place but probably a bit outside my price range for how much I normally eat on any given day. Great value during promotions such as their anniversary week.
