Disclaimer: I am pretty much in love with this place. I remember the first time I came here I was in awe. Rows and rows of colorful macarons laid out beautifully behind the glass and the cutest little cakes too.
From the outside and even inside it looks like a tiny place. Walk in and walk out? but if you continue down the hallway and down the stairs there's a cozy lounge with warm and modern decor for you to relax and study with macarons and tea or chat with friends. There are plugs and there is free wifi. Honestly the perfect place. Service is always friendly and professional and if you decide to stay they will bring down your drinks and desserts for you!
Butter avenue sells a range of things - macarons being their specialty. They look beautiful and are delicious. Out of all the times I've been there the cookie is delicate and the cream is soft with a good ratio - today not so much for either part of the macaron (but we did get there at around 9pm). There are some flavors that are always available (pistachio, chocolate, earl grey, etc.) and seasonal ones so every time you go there's likely a few new flavors!
They also sell tea which should be a must when you get macarons because by themselves they are a bit too sweet. Personally I like magic moon (herbal floral/fruit tea). They also sell various pastries and oddly enough I saw quiches available for purchase. They also sell iced teas and coffees.
I super like this place but it's not somewhere you can go regularly. It's not cheap - around $2.50 for an individual macaron and $15 for 6 (or more). But it is definitely worth it once in a while! The Yonge and Eglinton location is also good but I like the atmosphere of this location more - quieter and cozier without everyone walking in and out and perfect if you just want to relax.
