I'm not in Phoenix very often... But I have to say this is the absolutely most disappointing embassy suites hotel I have stayed at todate!
I travel a lot... Probably more than the average joe. So believe me when I say I understand when hotels overwhelmed and understaffed! However this location has absolutely no excuse for my experience!
Here's the rundown. I got to the hotel very early and was hoping to get an early check in because of my status within the loyalty program. That didn't happen, which was fine, so I went into the lobby To get some work done and to wait. The staff at the front desk I told me that the hotel is completely booked for that week and that they had assigned my room to me already and they needed to get it ready. Again totally fine... However it took them over eight hours to get my room ready! Totally and absolutely unacceptable! I kept seeing people come to the front desk and go straight to the room hour after hour after hour! So I decided to leave the hotel, Get a two massage, something to eat ( we'll get To that later) and come back. It still wasn't ready!
OK so once I finally got into my room... It was completely disgusting! You want to take a look at the pictures just so that you know I'm not over exaggerating. However the hotel is completely booked I didn't have the opportunity to change rooms, I would've had to change hotels and I was not in any mood to do that! So, I just dealt with it!
The restaurant there has absolutely nothing vegan! The salad that they were prepared to give me was nothing less than a big garden salad with no dressing! Then coming to the coffee bar "aka" Starbucks - they only served MILK! I mean are you kidding me what are we in the 10th century here! I mean who doesn't carry soy milk or almond milk or something!!
Thank God for that day, the nicest lady said that she had some Almond milk of her own, that she would be more than happy to share with me! Oh my god are you kidding me right now... The staff is even aware of the downfalls of this hotel and is willing to share their personal items to make sure that the guests are happy!! Give me a break! When I asked if someone could bring some soy or almond milk into the hotel since I would be there for the entire week, I was told no. The no one could do that because they would have to buy by the case and it would go bad! OK so you know the Almond milk and soy milk stay good for like a year or more! Omg! That made me even more mad!
So when this fact and the fact that my room was absolutely disgusting and unacceptable.... they told me that I could have free coffee for the entire week ( ha!!! I just told The lady there was no soy or almond milk! ) then compt me the week but ended up charging me for 2 days anyway.
I say hotel dweller beware!! Don't stay here when there are so many other amazing places to stay in town.
Oh.... the one star.... That was for the locations atrium... I got that was a nice change from hotel to hotel to see all of the live plants and trees inside the hotel... I thought that was awesome.
