  • I had not been to M&P since shortly after it first opened so when I chose a random Friday night I knew my bf would be in town, I booked a 9:30 reservation for the two of us. Parking is so convenient due to the Theater Square garage being in the same building. I forget the cost, but I do remember it was quite reasonable. We arrived a little early and our table wasn't ready yet so we sat on one of the couches in the lobby for a few minutes until we were taken back. The tables when you first walk in are a very tight squeeze, however, we were seated on the opposite side of the dining room, and I did not find the tables to be too tight together. We were not privy to our table neighbors conversations so there was a decent amount of space between each table. Our server was very efficient and attentive without being intrusive. She quickly got us water and let us peruse the drink menu a bit further. My bf decided not to have a drink, which meant I had to have two-one for him AND one for me ;) The drinks were expertly made-I had a bourbon drink and a whiskey drink. They were very tasty and very strong, but I wasn't the one driving so bring it on! We started out with the Lobster mac and cheese. It was so creamy and the doritos crust really added a unique touch to the dish. There were several chunks of lobster mixed uniformly throughout. This was easily the best lobster mac I have had in quite some time, possibly ever! I totally wish I didn't have to share because I could have downed that dish in a few scoops just by myself, it was that good! The portion was a nice size as well, perfect for two. My boyfriend had the duck which was cooked PERFECTLY to a medium rare. It was melt in your mouth juicy, and I will absolutely order that dish on my next visit! I went with the short rib flatbread after reading rave reviews on that dish on Yelp. I was impressed-the bleu cheese was not overpowering and the short rib was so very tender and juicy. I liked the arugula on top as well-VERY tasty! I wanted to save room for dessert so I left one small piece behind. I was disappointed they ran out of the pot de creme and the chocolate smores dessert, however, they had a red velvet cookie cake that was TO DIE for! I'm not even a red velvet fan and I'd totally order this again, although I am hoping next time they don't run out of the chocolate pot de creme. This was a stellar dining experience, from service to food to ambience. I will ABSOLUTELY return (and hopefully it's for brunch!)
