  • The queer community in Calgary has been waiting for a great gay-friendly bar to open up - and the time has come! Club Sapien is a casual-dining restaurant by day and a great dance club by night - this is a hard thing to pull off because no one wants to eat where people were grinding the night before (try to not think about that one too hard.) However - Sapien has really hit the nail on the head with this one. The food is great, the service is really welcoming and the management is super supportive of everyone - especially the gay community. Whether you're going for lunch with friends or looking to get drunk with friends any night of the week - this is a great option for you. If I had to note one negative thing, it'd be that they don't yet have beer on tap, so they only serve limited bottled options. If they can get some craft beer in, I'll be there every weekend! ;-)
