Don't try the samples unless you want to be ruined for LIFE! I am looking at you Cannizzaro Famiglia pasta sauce. We tried it on one visit and now when we make homemade pasta we have to have a jar since other mass produced sauces just don't hold a candle to this wonderful locally made sauce. I thought $12 for a large jar was dear until I saw it at a local store for almost $20. Never mind! To the farmer's market we go to get our sauce fix.
As other Yelpers have noted - go early to get the best selection. I don't think we've ever gone much past noon and even then the tables have thinned out a bit. I love the variety of items for sale - fruits & veggies, wine, fresh bread and even soap. The vendors are always friendly but never pushy which is great!
There are two things I dislike about going here though. First is that in the summer it gets HOT and dusty which does not make for a pleasant shopping experience. Second - there are signs everywhere that clearly state no dogs are allowed. I love my pupper but totally get he really shouldn't come with me on my grocery shopping trips. However, to my continual annoyance, there always seems to be at least one non-service dog on a leash. Why have the rule if you aren't going to enforce it?
Bonus - more and more vendors have started accepting cards. This is a great and dangerous development.
