Planes Trains Automobiles: We had 25 people in line at 1230pm on a Thursday. There were 3 counter personnel -- 2 on the phone, 1 helping customers. The Computer Terminal thing was broken as it usually is at Hertz. We make it to the counter . . . . and then they say: THIRTY MINUTE WAIT for a car. That sounds horrible. We explain this is a one day trip no overnight stay and we'll take what you have. Hertz gives us a Minivan in space 706. We got out to the lot -- THERE'S NO CAR IN SLOT 706. Just like Steve Martin in the movie. I've been a traveler 30 years -- that's the first time that's happened. And there are no cars in spaces 700-50 at all.
Go back inside, walk in front of the 35 waiting customers and ask for a car in a space. We get one and we were off. Consumed about 45 minutes with Hertz.
This Hertz location is road kill. They did not have enough cars to meet passenger demand. This is not your father's Hertz. I've seen problems throughout the Hertz system in the past 3 years. Hertz is now on my AVOID list.
The people at this location are pleasant . . . . but you cannot rent a car here efficiently. Not possible. They don't have enough cars and they don't have a mindset to pick up the efficiency.
