I called Homewood suites my home for a solid week for business. The checkin was rough but the other staff greatly made up for the front desk.
My company took care of all charges for my stay, provided a credit card auth form for all deposits and incidentals. I then personally called to follow up and make sure they had everything they needed as I was taking a very late flight in.
I arrive at the hotel to be told I would not be given my keys unless I provided the card used to book. I of course don't have that. He then says he must charge the 7 nights plus $350 deposit on another card or again i get no keys. At this point it's 11pm on a Sunday night. My offices are closed, no one to call.
I am a Hilton honors member and the hotel let me pick and check into my room prior to arrival. There is NO way that happened if the room didn't have some sort of payment. He allowed me to check into my room tying up my credit card until I could get someone from their accounting on the phone in the am. Only to be told the notes are in the system there should have been no problem!! But yet there was!!! Ughhhhhh!!!!!! No apologizes just tying up my card til the auth dropped off.
Stephanie in the breakfast area and the housekeeping staff GREATLY made up for the rocky start. Breakfast and the evening social were nice touches to start end my business day.
I have to make this trip frequently and Homewood is convenient. I might bite the bullet and give them another try...maybe a different from desk person can get it right
