This is the "if I could give it zero stars, I would." review of the Agave Spa at the Westin Kierland. I booked an 80 minute facial expecting a relaxing spa experience. Apparently the Westin decided it would be fun to play club music pounding directly outside of the spa rooms at the same time as the treatment - throughout the entire 80 minutes. I like upbeat, loud music as much as the next person, but not during my spa experience.
The bass was so loud and thumping that it was reverberating through the room and off of the equipment. The aesthetician had turned up the spa music to try to cover it up, but it only made the situation worse. Two completely different types of music blasting during the treatment was not calming. I was laying there wishing the treatment would end and came out of it with a headache and my heart pounding.
Why the staff would feel it was acceptable to continue treatments without any prior warning of the excessive noise is completely ridiculous. When paying as much as I did for the treatment, I would have expected notification upon booking that there may be loud music playing due to an on-property event. Had I been notified, I would have opted out and booked for a different time/date.
When I brought this to the attention of the staff, they acted confused like they had no idea about the music. They offered a 30% discount which was completely inadequate. With tip, I still paid over $200 for a miserable experience. I expressed my disappointment and the manager's only solution was to offer an amenity card which was ridiculous....sorry your box of assorted dates or signature olive oils is not sufficient to make up for the extremely poor service. Very unprofessional, and I'll be booking elsewhere from now on!
