We live in north Phoenix so nowhere near this area. Happened to be heading home after our nephew's school event. Yelped the area for some good Italian and found this place. My boyfriend had the spaghetti and meatballs, which I'd say was pretty good but nothing spectacular. I ordered chicken piccata. Holy Moses! A tender and very juicy chicken breast in a lemon cream sauce with capers. It was absolutely delicious! It came over a tasty pile of yellow and green zucchini squash slices, which I quickly devoured. I almost ordered more veggies but the dish also comes with a side of spaghetti Alfredo. I'm not a huge Alfredo fan. The menu says the dish comes with a side of pasta and I assumed it was a marinara dish. Boy was I wrong...and pleasantly so. That pasta bowl was pure perfection. Warm, creamy noodles that had the best flavor I've had from a pasta dish in quite some time. Also, an Italian guitarist serenaded the dining room with romantic songs, a nice touch.
As far away as we live from Zappones, I enjoyed their food so much that I'll return. It's so worth the 50 minute drive!
