  • I am not sure how to review this. I knew this was going to be an event dinner, just no clue as to how much of one. The evening started as we gave our vehicle to the valet. There was a person from the restaurant at the front door who knew our name and that it was our anniversary. She took the valet ticket and escorted us to the restaurant. Not that fancy or impressive of a dining room. Very quiet but comfortable. Everyone working there knew our names and that we were celebrating our anniversary. The waiter came over and explained the process as well as the paintings on the walls. I had done some reading and was excited to try their tasting menu. They have a 7 course and a 13 course one. We chose the 7 course. Everyone at the table has to get the menu. We started out with something called 'Amuse'. It was a cracker with some stuff on it. I can't remember exactly what. It was delicious but I was saying to myself 'great, I'll have to go to McDonald's on the way home'. I was wrong. Next course was Ha:l which was a mesquite smoked squash puree. It was heavenly! Next was Three Sisters which is a scallop, caviar, squash, pasta and bean crackling. My wife didn't like scallops or caviar. She does now. Next was Intermezzo, which was some delicious sherbet. Next was Grilled Tenderloin of Tribal Buffalo. Wow doesn't do it justice! Menu says "Smoked Corn Puree, Cholla Buds, Chorizo and Scarlet Runner Bean Chile, Saguaro Blossom Syrup". The combination was delicious! Next was Global Artisan Cheeses. This was the only disappointment of the evening and it was our own fault. They asked what kind of cheeses we liked and we told them to have the chef pick. He picked some of the driest cheeses I've ever had and it was just not to our taste. The stuff that came with it was delicious, however. Last but not least was desert. I can't remember the exact selections I got but it was really good! As the evening wound down, we left and found our car sitting out front with two ice cold bottles of water in the cup holders as well as a tin with some muffins and honey and a hand written card thanking us for spending our anniversary with them. Start to finish was almost 3 hours and while we weren't stuffed, we were full and satisfied. All I need to do now is sell a kidney and go back for the 13 course meal!
