| - I am in Scottsdale Leadership's 32nd class, and we had a brief but enjoyable visit a couple weeks ago for Arts Day. I'd been looking forward to returning with my family to share that enjoyment, and stopped in today during the arts festival. Our 2 boys were energized from the festival and all it had to offer, but appropriate, and we are attentive and respectful parents. However, one of the women who worked there kept following us from room to room. I quickly noticed that she was watching us and our boys, and I felt very uncomfortable, like how it feels when a store owner thinks you're going to steal something. At one point my older son walked closely next to an exhibit and she sternly told him to go a different way, which he immediately did. At that point I just wanted to leave. We've been to so many museums as a family that I can't count them all, and no one has ever made us feel this way. In fact, in most cases, docents, employees, and tour guides are especially engaging with young visitors. Maybe they don't get many children there? Either way we won't be back anytime soon.
