| - A year of torture is all I can take. I initially started with Prestige Dental because I wanted/needed a dentist open on Saturdays. Prestige fit the bill and was close to home. In the past year I have had two cleanings and three fillings replaced.
Three of my four visits to this office started at least 15 minutes after my scheduled appointment (I arrived early to every appt). I get the impression Prestige makes it's money on volume....there are countless rooms for patients and they are always busy.
I had two cleanings over the year. The first one was with Linda. She is very sweet, personable and a little crazy with the water. I had stuff splashing all over my face throughout the cleaning. However, it was easy to dismiss because she was such a sweet lady and my teeth had that "fresh from the dentist clean" feeling. The second cleaning my appointment started really late, then the hygienist (don't know her name) was as slow as can be and I felt as though she was exhausted from a long day of working on screaming kids. I can't blame her. The whole appointment took too long (I was there 90 minutes for a cleaning!!!)
This is where it gets interesting....the work on my fillings was horrifying. Dr Tang and his assistants are butchers. They tugged at my face throughout both appointments. My entire face hurt afterwards, not just my gums. One time he started work on me before I was numb. He gave me another shot to numb me. When I nearly jumped out of my chair in pain, he told me he is too close to being done, another shot would be a waste!
Due to my love of candy and poor dental hygiene habits as a child, I have a long history with dentists. However, I did have two dentists in another state that I loved. I may have been spoiled by their punctuality (respect for MY time) and gentleness. I feel dentistry has come a long way since the 70's, geared much more towards the patient's comfort, Prestige Dental sets dentistry back at least 20 years.
I have another crown that I put off having replaced, out of shear terror. New year, new dentist.
