| - I thought I loved Uber until my friends and I were unexpectedly betrayed. We took an Uber car, our favorite cab service at the time, to the Phoenix open this year. Many know it is very difficult to get a cab to the open, and booking more entertaining transportation such as party busses can be expensive. We rolled with Uber, had a great time singing the TLC classic "No Scrubs" with our delightful driver during our 15 minute trip up the 101, and thought we had started off the morning just right. Then, tragedy hit. After we hopped out of our vehicle and hugged our new Uber bff, our joy quickly turned to sorrow and full out panic when we realized we had been billed $256. TWO HUNDRED FIFTY-SIX DOLLARS. Slapped in the face by the most expensive 15 minute car ride of all time, we solemnly tried to enjoy the rest of our day with 200,000 of our closest Scottsdale comrades. I don't care what kind of over-the-top-multi-million-dollar event Scottsdale is having, under NO circumstances (actually there are two exceptions: if we ran into Jay-Z and Beyonce buying booze at Fry's and they had asked us to split some rosé in their Benz, I would one trillion percent have thrown down $256. / If the cab driver was indulging in prostitution.) should a 15 minute cab ride cost $256. Uber, you let me down and it still hurts. I want a hug.
