We went to Cantina 1511 for dinner before a concert at Spectrum Center. We did not have reservations which was our first mistake. The hostess promised us though that we would be seated with 20-30 minutes. We checked with the hostess stand after 35 minutes and we're told we'd be seated soon. A full hour after we entered the restaurant we were seated. My assumption is that they were short- staffed because as we were escorted to our table, we passed several open tables.
Our waitress was relatively slow to get over to our table and we were prepared to order immediately since time was running short. We told her we were in a hurry so we could go to a concert and she told us that it would be hard to get drinks from the bar or food from the kitchen within an hour.
We settled for water and appetizers, neither of which was very good. I am at a loss to figure out how a restaurant can't staff servers and the kitchen/bar knowing there is an event nearby.
