| - Wow...what a rise and now what a fall! I have been using Uber, a lot, for a number of years now, and in cities in the U.S., Canada and Europe. I live in Montreal and the Uber service here is just about at the bottom of the pile. Most of the cars in which I've been riding are dirty, they smell of obnoxious "odor devices" which are supposed to make something smell better, and they all make me nauseous. I think now that many of the drivers are former taxi drivers and they drive like it (slowing at green lights, hoping they will turn red, etc.). The drivers used to arrive in clean cars and with attitudes that they cared! Nowadays, just the opposite has become so. And, the price has gone up so that there's not that much difference between taking Uber and a local taxi, especially with the guilty tip inserted! For example, with a reasonable tip, a trip home from the airport was only $5 less than a new, Prius taxi!! If Uber does not reevaluate what made it so good compared to the alternatives, it too will be down the toilet here in no time.
