Two night family getaway was good but could have been better. Hilton honors member that booked wheelchair accessible ome bedriom suite and took option for paid upgrade to two bed of available. Check in was fast and convenient. I was informed I would be receiving the room upgrade and agreed to the promised rate. When about to be presented with my keys, the agent I had been dealing with for fifteen minutes, glances at me and says, "I see you are in a wheelchair but the room I gave you is not wheelchair accessible. Do you need a wheelchair accessible room?" It took another twenty minutes to figure out they did not have a two bedroom suite available for both nights. They offerred the upgrade for the second night but who wants to move rooms aftet one night of a two night stay. I got my original room. It had the original decor left over from Planet Hollywood days and the look is OK with me but the hotel wide refurb was needed for room. Wear and tear on room is apparent but not terrible. Just needs a refresh. Ran into problem with the bed being too high for someone to transfer into from a wheelchair. Bell person called front desk for me and a room switch was initiated but then housekeeping came in and removed the bed risers. Access to Miracle Mile shops is great and hotel atmosphere is good. Kids enjoyed the pool. All in all, enjoyed the stay after the few hiccups. Eventually got the room I originally reserved. Just don't get my hopes up for an upgrade and let me down. Once room renovations are completed, hotel should be top notch. Bed issue was quickly resolved but delayed settling in by another twenty minutes. Most won't have to deal with disabled people issues but it does show the staff training might not be as comprehensive as Hilton GV would like. I came here anticipating hearing from the sales office and perhaps purchasing, but after the stumbles I just wanted to relax and enjoy the weekend.
