  • DO NOT HIRE CHRISTIAN BROTHERS. Con men and liars of the first order. Not words I would use lightly. I've had problems with this company in the past. But when my tenant called and the air broke down in the dead of summer, and I was traveling out of town, I didn't have time to search for someone new. They quoted me $1,600 or so. It certainly seemed high but what do I know? These guys wouldn't be in business if the average person knew A/C parts and pricing. The tech puts the hard sell on me over the phone. "Your tenant is here, it's 100 degrees in the unit, better let us fix this now." But the number just seemed too high for what they were proposing. And I wondered, was what they proposed necessary? I asked my tenant to hang tight and called 10 places. I was able to get two quotes over the phone based on the problem they described within ten minutes. Both for $1000 less than what Christian Brothers quoted me. The problem was fully restored for $1000 less than they quoted me. Again, it took me less than ten minutes to get two quotes. As others called me over the next day or two in response to my frantic search for quotes, I asked out of curiosity what they would have charged. All were in the ballpark of $600. Nobody came close to $1000. NOBODY quoted me close to $1,600.
