  • It's been almost two years since I was wowed by Bachannal. Went back and wasn't as impressed this time. (Go to Wicked Spoon if you have to pick one). First of all, having to wait 90 minutes, including the time from when you use their lame automated text system, is a real hassle. If you could go without waiting, the experience would be better. But after standing in line, Disneyland style, the food needs to be better to justify the wait--and it isn't. There are some wonderful things here, such as the king crab legs, the street tacos, and the Aguas frescas in their own little glass jars. But many of the dishes, especially the Asian dishes were no better than any "normal" buffet in town. The desserts are excellent. A real standout was the dim sum-style custard cups.
