  • The name should be a bit of a hint - Cold Tea ranks off the charts in hipsterage. Getting here is like an adventure. It gets you pumped up for the night. Down that hallway, and the general area, it looks a little shady, but doesn't feel shady. Once inside, I honestly could not believe there was a dumpling stand on the way in/out. Could there be a more awesome addition to a bar? I wish I had got some so I could review their quality! The DJ was spinning unknown tracks, but everyone (myself included) was into it - great first impression. I do have a couple of complaints though. First off, we had to wait about 20 minutes to get in. I guess that's ok because it means they're being safe about their capacity limits and it wasn't overcrowded inside. But it was still annoying (this is a bar after all). Second, it was way too loud inside. Most people tried to cram onto the patio so I guess they turned up the volume for everyone to be able to hear it outside. My last problem: smoking on the patio. There were just too many people smoking at once and because it's more of a closed courtyard than a patio, the airflow was poor so it got a little hard to breathe out there. When I got home, my clothes smelled like cigarettes, even though I don't smoke. Of course no hipster party is complete without the right kind of alcohol. Most people there were drinking tallboys of PBR or Milwaukee, and the rest had cocktails with strange names. Drinks were a little more than I was expecting, but I can't complain as there was no cover, the bartenders were generous with their servings, and it was still cheaper than at a lot of other places. It was just a bit of a surprise. The place got tired after a while, but it was a great place to hang out for a few drinks. I'd come back!
