  • 5-star cakes! 5-star service and staff. Macarons 2-star (I don't want to lie) We recently ordered a Louis XIV cake for my mother's birthday. Even though she doesn't have a sweet tooth, and a few others in the birthday party claimed they were "on diet", who can refuse delicious layers of dark chocolate mousse, cassis cream, and pear mousse that looks almost as beautiful as it tastes. Needless to say it disappeared in no time. Macarons, on the other hand, were a little sad. The meringue shells were quite dense to the extent of being gluey. Maybe we should have let it sit and come back to room temperature for a little longer, but I doubt the meringue would spring back to life much. Maybe it was their off-day for macarons. Will still go back for cakes and other pastries.
