| - With Uncle Tetsu finally opening in Unionville, and everyone going crazy for it, it was worth at least one visit to see what all the fuss was about.
Came by on a Sunday afternoon with a friend, and both of us decided to get a cheesecake for later. There are 2 lines when you arrive, one for the cheesecake and another for their other baked goods. You pretty much don't have to wait at all for the other baked goods, but the cheesecake line is out the door and down the street.
As they make all their cheesecakes fresh and in batches of 9 or so, they only permit one cheesecake per person in line. The line is quite long and you have to wait for new batches to come out before the line moves, but it wasn't as long as I thought it would be.
The cheesecake itself was pretty good, but a little too light and fluffy for my liking. It was more like a spongecake than a cheesecake. Some of the other madelines were quite good as well.
The store itself is a decent sized building, but they do not utilize the space that they have. The upstairs and side room are not used for anything the public can see, and the line is always out the door because they have a tiny little hallway for people to wait.
Not my favorite kind of cheesecake and not really worth the wait in my opinion, but definitely worth a try if you're interested.
