| - Hmmm, where do I start?
I traveled here to retire. I really liked the Summerlin area and decided to buy a house there. I looked at this complex in November of 2016, February of 2017 and May of 2017.
So here's the story. In late May, I signed my contract in the office and was told an employee would meet me at the place in twenty minutes.
I waited and decided to walk inside with my key. Hmmm....the power is off. I saw a form from the major utilities I had contacted prior to check it days before my occupying. The note said, "utilities in working order but off, see landlord office." I called NV energy and they told me they'd put a work order in.
I drove back to the office. I told the gal who I had signed contract with that I didn't have power. She said, "Well, maybe you didn't pay your bill." She abruptly turned around and exited down the hall way. I was shocked. Everything is paid. Lol.
I turned and asked, I'll leave his name out but asked who is such n such. He said he was. Sitting in a chair. I asked aren't you supposed to walk thru with me? Ugh, yes. Well? He said ok I'll meet you there. I said no. Let's go now. He said they would have to do a work order on my lack of power. I asked, well where do I stay tonight? He said he didn't know.
I asked permission to look up hotels at the next desk which he said..sure.
I looked up hotels. Found two. I stepped outside...found a complex maintenance employee. I told him my issue. He said they turn off the power before a resident moves in. I asked then why did the office people act like they can't do anything. He said he didn't know. I got the feeling he knew that happens.
He turned in my electricity. Pretty easy. Oh...it's not done.
Next morning I had no gas. Yup...they hadn't turned on the gas for me for over 24 hours.
As for cleanliness...cockroaches 1-3 per day for two weeks. Two wolf spiders and one tarantula. Why??...because there weather stripping under the front door and door leading to garage was worn out or missing.
Neighbors were great!!! Good people.
Community mail pick up...gate doesn't close all of the time. The lock is dented from entry. I reported to the office but never was repaired.
The garage before I moved in, you couldn't see the cement as it was completely covered with dirt and leaves. So basically no one had inspected the unit before I moved in.
The office staff also argued with my cable guy when they said they didn't have time to reconnect wires.
A week ago, the unit next to me was open for 48 hours, garage and door leading into the unit. I found out my unit was vacant for two months before I moved in. So no wonder with doors left open there are critters waiting for YOU to move in.
After Memorial weekend, I told the office manager what happened. She seemed uninterested until I pointed out the lack of utilities turned on which violate city, county and state laws. Ahhh, that got her interested.
So they walked thru to do repairs. I began some travel so I didn't want them to know so I didn't return their calls. I just wanted to be left alone.
Renting at this dump motivated me to find a house.
I found a house and bought it.
I highly DO NOT recommend this property to rent. My rent is higher than my mortgage.
The entire office staff needs to be replaced.
