| - I can't say enough great things about my experience here. After spending a year trying to get my very ill, shelter-adopted cat back on her feet with another vet, we were both exhausted and frustrated. So I thought it was time for a change and saw the Yelp reviews for Oasis. I figured we would give them a shot. Within a very short time of treatment at Oasis, she is already better than she has ever been. Dr Beger really knows her stuff and the staff is wonderful, showing nothing but kindness...even when my cat was fighting them. I really appreciate them not acting like they want to rush through the appointment. When she gets stressed, they just stop everything and cuddle her up until she is calm. It made both of us feel very comfortable. I will definitely be using this vet for all my pet needs.
11/2016 - Well, not sure where to go with this. My kitty that I originally took in ended up going to a specialist and couldn't be saved. I don't blame Dr Berger at all. However, then I took my male cat in and got Dr Boyce. I took him in because I was concerned about a bladder infection when he started peeing outside the box. Dr Boyce looked at his teeth, felt his bladder (it was empty), decided that teeth were the problem and dismissed my concerns of a UTI. It was mental from mouth pain. Didn't run any tests but decided to take the teeth out. Also drained a pimple on his face. $1200 later, we had two follow up appointments to check his mouth. On the last one, I stated again that he was eating and peeing, but I felt like something was wrong with his bladder. He was peeing smaller amounts than usual, altho in the box. The bump on his face was back too. He completely dismissed me again. The peeing was just stress. Let him know if it got worse. Didn't want to bother to test for anything. Didn't drain the bump cuz it wasn't big enough. Fast forward a month, my boy stopped eating, barely peed and when I called Oasis before Thanksgiving holiday, they could put me on a waitlist to possibly but not probably be seen. I had to take him to a emergency clinic to figure out what's wrong. Guess what?! It's a frigging advanced UTI that he may not pull out of. The pimple is a small abscess. Geez. I think I'll be going to a different vet going forward...
Final update. After seeing another vet as a follow up to the UTI, we have found my boy has a tumor in his abdomen. It's entirely possible Dr Boyce didn't catch this because it is a fast growing type of viral cancer. It has the same symptoms as a UTI. I still feel like Dr Boyce was a bit dismissive of my concerns, but I can't fault him for something that may not have been discoverable at that time. So, I've changed the rating for 4 stars.
