Mixed reviews left me wondering what this stunning looking restaurant is all about. One way to find out - try it. I took advantage of Summerlicious $18 lunch deal and took the plunge.
As stated before, this is a gorgeous place architecturally. The service was excellent and attentive.
First course was salad and I tried "Insalata Via Vai". I was not disappointed. It was quite flavourful. For main course, I picked "Marinara" pizza. It was quite good but not spectacular. For dessert I had Tiramisu which was quite good but again nothing spectacular - perhaps a little dry. My wife found it terrible.
Overall, we left somewhat satisfied. We will most likely go back as the ambiance and space is relaxing and beautiful. Food is satisfying overall but I would say the main problem is that the menu is tiny. It's ok to have a small menu if the food is amazing but it's not amazing at Via Vai - however it is good - no doubt about it.
An interesting note regarding mens' wash room is that their urinal is right next to a door (opening to the outside hallway) that can not be locked because there's a stall next to the urinal. Taking a piss was quite an adventure not knowing if someone's going to open the door.
