  • My son and I bought our first bearded dragon from Arizona Reptile Center and it died after less than 2 weeks. It was sooo small but it was the only one in the habitat at the front desk. We asked about other bearded dragons and a lady brought a handful from the back that were bigger but all had their tails snipped so my son picked the only one with a full tail even though he was so small. I was hesitant because this was our first beardie but we were reassured he was fine. I even kept the receipt because he was so small. He never really ate well and we called the store several times for advise as we were told to do, but sadly it didn't matter what we did. The morning he died we called the store again and were told there was nothing they could do unless we had bought a complete habitat from them. Luckily we found the Predator's Reptile Center that same day because my kids were so upset. It was amazing AND clean! We found out that the care instruction we were given at Arizona Reptile Center weren't even correct. ARC had told us to add calcium only 3 days a week and not to bath it more than once a week. I don't think our bearded dragon was healthy to start with but I'm sure these care instructions made it worse. Needless to say, we bought another bearded dragon from the Predator's Reptile Center and after we told them our story they even gave us a discount on our new beardie as well as care instructions AND a 30 day return policy as most places apparently do! I won't ever return to Arizona Reptile Center.
