  • Booked the South Rim Express tour for $125. You really get the best deal for your $ with this company. As a single young woman going on this trip, I felt completely safe the entire time. I was a little worried about finding the van since other people have commented that they had a hard time finding the vehicle. When our group was picked up the van had the Grand-Adventures logo on it and it was right on time. It arrived promptly at 6:00am. I would highly recommend getting there at least 10-15minutes before the pick up time just in case. We were on the road in 5 minutes. It was just enough time for our names to be called and for us to load up in the van. Our tour guide was great and was super knowledgeable about the history of Las Vegas and the Grand Canyon. I was in a vehicle with 10 other people from all over the world (not including the guide). I have lower back issues so I brought my seat cushion for the ride...I hardly go anywhere without it. I would highly recommend bringing a neck pillow if you're petite since you would be able to lean back and rest your head on the seat. It might be more difficult to do this if you're taller and have longer legs. If you're taller I would recommend sitting close to the door so you can somewhat stretch out your legs (our at least 1 leg). When we had lunch I ordered the gluten-free option. I really didn't know how they were going to assemble the sandwich. Apparently, gluten-free means no bread and the meat is wrapped in lettuce. When I first looked at the meal I thought it was a salad since it came in a clear container. Haha. We were offered a water bottle, cheese, and crackers. Our guide packed extra water bottles just in case anyone was extra thirsty. I brought my own chips and snacks and it helped make the meal a little bit more complete. When we stopped at the rest stop it was at a gas station in Arizona. You're able to buy chips and other snacks just in case you didn't pack any on the way there. Most of the walking on the tour was on a paved path. I wouldn't recommend this trip for individuals who have a hard time walking up and down stairs or walking 3 miles. Our tour guide helped take really cool pictures of me and he knew all of the best spots to take photos. If I had another chance to go again I would with this company. I tipped him $15. I would recommend at least tipping 15-20% per person to the tour guide at the end of the trip.
