My sister came in today for an MRI abdomen with and without contrast. She was at this location last week for a CT. During that appointment, the staff had difficulty obtaining intravenous access. She was stuck numerous times. I came with my sister today for support expecting to meet incompetent staff. Boy was I WRONG! Scott and Jim (MRI techs) were extremely compassionate and caring. We worked out a unique plan to help my sister. Some background information: I am a registered nurse of 8 years with recent experience in Interventional Radiology and a majority of my experience in Emergency Medicine. With permission from the radiologist, I was allowed to start my sister's IV. The techs allowed me to stay with my sister during her exam. They explained in depth about the timing with the contrast and how it helps to get a perfect picture. We had a hiccup with the first IV - infiltrating after half the gad was given however, the techs knew how to take care of the situation. Working together, we obtained another access and the test was a success!
I am so impressed with the team work here. Scott and Jim went above and beyond accommodating my sister. THIS IS WHAT SERVICE EXCELLENCE LOOKS LIKE!
