Having lived in the UK for 10 years, on my first visit I was a bit worried that the pasties would not be up to scratch. Sooooo glad to say they are extremely good!
I'm partial to the "Oggie" and have it every time b/c it's so delicious! I ask for extra sauce too, love it
You can also buy pasties (as in 'past' not 'paste') to cook at home and they come out really well: just follow the instructions on the package they wrap for you. If you like beer there's a very comprehensive menu to satisfy all tastes. Vegetarians and vegans are also catered to, with special pasties full of veggies and other good things - I haven't tried those so can't judge, but from the standard of the ones I have had, I'd say those must be very good too.
Have room for dessert?? okay then, I highly recommend the chocolate bread and butter pudding: yummy yum yum! of course the other desserts are great too, they even have a peanut butter and jelly pasty ....so bon appétit everyone
and try not to get too addicted to these delicious concoctions....& if you don't already know why, read about the origins of the pasty while you wait for yours
