| - I'm in my mid-40's and have been getting lash extensions for the past nine years. I've had a handful of different lash ladies, from someone unlicensed working out of her home to licensed girls in a chain lash salon, and everything in between.
First of all, NEVER go to someone who isn't a license esthetician or cosmetologist.
Secondly, an esthetics or cosmetology license does not mean they're trained well to do lashes. Inquire as to where (and how much) training they've received.
Most people don't know: lots of girls watch YouTube for a bit, or are shown by a friend, and consider themselves trained. They're not.
Sometimes they've taken a day or two of training, and that's a start. Mentoring under someone who is experienced is better. These are things you want to know before someone does anything to your eyes.
Now, to Lanna. Lanna is a Licensed Esthetician, who took formal lash training courses, and then was mentored until she gained experience. That was several years ago, when she started doing my lashes. Since then, she's been doing lashes all day, every day, full time. She's written a lash training education course and subsequent manuals. She's taught lash courses. She's managed other lash professionals and cleaned up there messes.
If you could rate someone in the lash business as a beginner, then intermediate, then experienced, then a master, and then a High Wizard... Lanna is a High Wizard.
There is no substitute for years of experience. She's seen it all, she can do it all, and she continues to seek out continuing education. She inspires others and actively pursues excellence in her trade.
She has a darling private salon space, that is full of beauty and good vibes. She is a Master Craftsperson. I don't know if she has any room on her schedule for someone new, but if you are lucky enough to get an appointment with her, just KNOW how lucky you are to be in hands like these.
