I happen to be nearby so I thought I would give Saigon Nites a visit. It's probably been over three years since I had lunch there. I remember it being a fairly good place to have lunch. I had pretty decent pho there and grilled salmon before. This time I had the crispy chicken wings for an appetizer. They were very good. They had a good crust on them, very crunchy and not oily at all. I also ordered the Banh Xeo which is a Vietnamese Rice crêpe because I had one at a Vietnamese restaurant in Glendale and absolutely loved it. I was disappointed with this one. It was very mushy on the inside and not very flavorful. I discovered it was from over cooked sautéed onions. The shrimp and pork could have been a little more fresh in my opinion. The pork was his specially dried out and did not have much flavor. The top of the crêpe was crunchy and actually pretty good. It came with fresh lettuce, meant, cilantro and cucumbers that came with the crepe. I won't be ordering this again.
I have to say that I do prefer the Vietnamese restaurants on the west side and in Glendale. However, this is not a bad option if you are in the area and want Vietnamese food. I had no problem with the service and it does have a nice atmosphere.
