| - I say this with a completely open mind and objectivity, and I will just lay out my experience at this place and the encounters I had with the people who work here:
I have stayed in many, many motels in my time, some good, some not so good, but Travelodge North in Phoenix is by far THEE WORST lodging experience of my life. Not only were the rooms disgusting, and even dangerous, the people who work there are disinterested, rude and could care less, as if they are just there to pass the time and collect a paycheck. Customer satisfaction is DEFINITELY NOT a concern of theirs. First off, they advertise they have free Wi-Fi. I even called ahead of time to make sure, as Internet access was essential to conduct my business in Phoenix. They said they did. When I got there, sure enough, there was no Internet access, not the whole weekend I was there. When I complained to the kid at the front desk, he couldn't even take his eyes off his iPhone and just said, "The manager said you paid for the room, not the Wi-Fi." Can you believe that? Believe it, because the dumpy little guy with Flock of Seagulls hair said it. He told me to talk to the manager about it the following morning, and she just took my name and number when I asked for a small discount upon checking out. She said she would relay message to manager and he would get back to me. Of course that never happened. The rooms were gross. I spotted a baby cockroach in the bathroom, meaning there were of course more likely breeding in the walls (so that's what future lucky customers get to look forward to). One of the lamps didn't work because of a frayed electrical cord they attempted to fix by jerry-rigging the cord with electrical tape, which obviously didn't work and posed a safety hazard because it could cause a fire. They have vending machines, but they don't sell water in them like all other motels and hotels do. Their continental breakfast consisted of stale mini muffins, cold cereal and lukewarm milk, which is also a health hazard.
Stay away from this dump and its disinterested employees! Avoid it like the plague. For $65 a night, you can absolutely, definitely do better than this dunghole. I wouldn't be surprised if it is Phoenix;s worst.
