Tea Space had a soft opening, but officially opened to the public just yesterday. Occupying the spot of former Coffee Hunter, Henderson hits the boba jackpot yet again. We've got options now for when that boba hunger strikes and no Chinatown journey is required. (although Tea Space has a location there, too.)
I stopped in after a trip to Neighborhood Walmart in the same plaza. Some remnants of Coffee Hunter stayed like the bar area/white tile backsplash and love for local artwork, along with some new additions like a couch, board games, and longer tables. Plenty of them! Definitely a spot to stake out and study, meet up, whatever. Outdoor seating available as well.
I was greeted by the cashier and handed a menu, which had many options: teas, milk teas, slush/smoothies, etc. with a selection of toppings. I ended up choosing the JASMINE SEA SALT TEA-LATTE. If you check in, you get a free topping so naturally = BOBA. The girl who made it asked me to taste it so she could make adjustments, but it seemed fine.
As I'm driving home, I noticed it could have used more ice since the boba balls themselves were warmish. I liked how there was a good portion of boba too, but for me, they seemed a little bit on the harder side. Additionally, sea salt cream is my favorite... but theirs was subdued and lacked that kick.
So overall, my drink was just average... but they're still fairly new. Given the location, ambiance, and menu selection, I'll be back to try other drinks. Don't forget to ask for a stamp card.
**Update: I went back for the same exact drink a week later in their regular size and it tasted MUCH better! Sea salt was kickin' and the boba was softer.
