Sometimes you just love a place for having the good sense to be different from all other places of a similar ilk.
Smash is a high-priced antiques store for sure. What makes it worthwhile, however, are a few novel aspects that other places have not learned:
1. It is uncluttered. You won't have to search for anything in here.
2. Pieces range from interesting to truly one-of-a-kind. There are no used coffee mugs, reproduction coke trays, or faux collectibles here taking up room.
3. The truly unique items are major conversation pieces. You may find a large sign from an old store, a complete set of 1950's restaurant chairs, or a grand piece of patio iron work.
4. They sell stuff. Unlike many higher-end places, they are not running a museum. There are always "new" items in the store. If you visited every other week you would be surprised at the new items that show up.
