| - In our hunt for an Avalon, my wife and I talked to many dealers. I am not a big phone person and I don't like sitting around for hours, though I will gladly argue when I am reasonably sure I'm in the right. I don't mind haggling.
I called Town and Country and told them the exact car we were interested in, and got a price. From there on, my correspondence was via text message, which I preferred. Zigmond was my sales person and we went a few rounds of messages, me stating what I wanted, what I had, and he going and getting numbers.
It was refreshingly easy. I agreed to a price, and they went out of their way to get me a very low rate (which I shopped judiciously, including at my credit union). I told him I wanted their car and that I would come get it, assuming there were no problems with the car and there were no attempts to fudge the numbers.
I Ubered to the dealership and set foot in it for the first time. Nice place. Zigmond was not available (I got there early), but Brad did a great job helping me. It took a few more minutes than I'd like, but all of the numbers were exactly as we'd agreed, and the car was precisely as I was told it would be. No games.
I've bought several new cars in my life. This experience was easily the most pleasant and easiest. I'm giving four stars for now. Once my wife experiences their service department, I will update based on her experience. If you're shopping to buy, you should at least give them a try.
