| - I'm a new member, and I have to give this gym 4-stars, on a get-what-you-pay-for scale. I pay $20/mth for a package that includes access to other locations.
Also, I go in the early a.m., so don't know about it during the evening peak times. That said, not busy at all from 6-7 a.m.
No issues so far with cleanliness or maintenance on the equipment they have, or bathrooms/showers. I go mainly to lift weights, and do some floor/core exercises. The space and mats available for floor work is always adequate. Always more than enough cardio equipment.
I've noticed that customers seem a little more conscious of cleaning after themselves, replacing weights, and courteous in general. Seems this may be an emphasis in how it's managed.
The only complaint I have, which I knew about before I signed up, was the limited free weights available.. particularly that there are no free barbells/racks for bench press other than the Smith machine...which seems to be a franchise-wide thing...at least, the Matthews location is the same way. The Central Ave location does have the small straight and ex curl bars (Matthews does not.). So, most of your free weight action has to be dumbbells, or Smith machine. Again, I knew this from the pre-signup tour... Still found it worth the money, hence the 4 starts. The non-judgemental philosophy they promote is pretty cool too.
