| - Ok let me start by saying we eat alot of fresh sushi, we salt water fish, we have been to 4 countries eating sushi so this is an educated sushi review. We have noticed alot of sushi restaurants are Phillipino owned and operated however if the fish is DNA real and the knife is sharp we eat.
A few years back we searched best sushi in vegas just to test the area. We figured VEGAS being VEGAS the who's who would eat sushi. I don't recall the name my wife found but it was behind an escalator down a hall across from a sports bar, it was a true hole. This place was unbelievable great. 6 years later we did same search as our daughter (9) loves sushi everyone and there mother has a sushi restaurant.
My wife picked Roku. We sat down and it was a typical restaurant other to flashy but sushi bar was awesome long and chef's were very visible. I scanned the menu and wow the prices were outrageously high like Toro was 26$, Halibut was 18$, saki by the glass Nigori super $$$ and it was a small glass. We decided to stay and try it is got Albacore, Halibut, Toro, seaweed salad, saki. The Toro was old and mushy, Halibut was tail ends and chewy if you know Halibut you would know this was awful and a cheap cut, the Albacore was very thin and almost white. My son got typical spicy tuna rolls and 1 lobster hand they were TINY. My wife well same. Daughter well same. Our bill usually runs 100 to 125 locally and we're treated like royalty I'm talking everything from desert being free to chef compliments in sushi. Roku was 345$.
We were thinking wow like we didn't get the special water or anything. We watched another family gorge and fancy water for the kids and this roasted marshmallow desert. Another family looked to be locals sat. Started ordering and we thought man we must be cheap or over our heads nope. The waitress brought all kinds of fancy things and the mom said he'll no we drink tap water, get drunk before you come in, and order cheap. I asked her why just go to a different place she said they work near by. By the way we came here at 630 and the place was empty. When we left we talked to a guy that ate at the bar and he too said the most expensive fish he has ever ate.
So if your in the mood to look important and spend but get average fish this is the place.
