| - It was pretty tough for me to decide my rating for Aloft because I had the worst time sleeping because of the noise from the neighboring bars, but the folks that work there are the nicest I've ever met! Truth be told, I never sleep well when I travel, but the thumping bass from a DJ one night and a rock band on another night made it so much worse. They put ear plugs on the nightstand for you to use, but my ears hurt when I use those things so I opted to suffer.
Aloft is not the greatest hotel in the Universe, but the location is awesome if you're on a budget, wanting to hit the bars or go shopping. I loved that Corepower yoga was a very short walk down the street. The shower is odd as it's got this weird glory hole cutout in the glass and no shower door, but the water temperature and pressure was perfect. Despite not being able to sleep because of the neighborhood noise, I thought the beds were really comfortable.
As I mentioned, the front desk folks were beyond wonderful. Friendly greetings, offering free water at every turn, and totally happy to answer any questions. The battery for my hotel room door lock broke and even the maintenance man was so friendly that I didn't mind that it broke. I'd stay here again just because I felt really safe knowing that everyone was so responsive and helpful.
