My father and I came to the store specifically to ask about a particular gadget that is pretty common at stores of this ilk. Spy Shop isn't close to where we live (Tempe and Chandler respectively) but we love places like this (mostly from my memories of "Spy Headquaters" in Mesa when I was a kid). We travelled the 20 miles just for this store.
As soon as we entered we asked the gentleman behind the counter about the gadget and he barely looked up from his desk (he was sitting working on a desktop computer.) The way he looked at us was as if he was at his home on his computer, and we had accidentally wandered into his living room to ask about surveillance equipment. His tone and attitude wasn't like someone who worked at a store.
The way he spoke to us, with extreme annoyance permeating his voice, was almost as if the Spy Shop makes money some other way than selling items to customers, because whatever he was doing on his computer seemed of extreme importance, and our desire to purchase things seemed like an after thought.
I hate to say this, but with the invention of a website called Amazon, you can't afford to have employees who are rude like this gentleman. We came to the store at roughly 3pm on Thursday, May 1st.
