  • A quick disclaimer: I'm not one to favor barbecue joints, but after reading all of the wonderful reviews, I decided that this place definitely deserved a visit. The decor is modern and clean, but filled with long tables that favor communal seating and give a picnic bench kind of vibe. We came on a Thursday night, didn't need reservations, and the restaurant was only half full around 8p (more-so a testament to many not having heard of this place, and not because of the food!) If you are a fan of Rye (and even if you're not), you MUST try their signature "Rock and Rye" drinks, they're absolutely delicious. The flavors are constantly changing, but we tried a berry/vanilla infused rye and a chocolate infused rye that were both incredibly smooth and had just the right amount of sweetness. On to the food. The portions are very generous! I came with 2 hungry guys; we ordered the combo (ribs, pork, and brisket),an additional half rack of ribs, and 3 sides- and we had PLENTY to take home. For sides, we ordered the meaty mac (cheesy, meaty goodness, but a bit rich for me), baked beans (sweet, smokey deliciousness, and a nice contrast to the spicy meat and salty greens-my #1 favorite side), and greens (vinegary, salty, and my #2 favorite side). The pork shoulder and brisket were oK, but the real winner was the ribs--they were fall of the bone, melt in your mouth good!!!! This is definitely a place work trying if you are a fan of barbecue!
