I checked in last night at the Quicken Loans Arena because I was able to snag a couple company suite tickets for the Monsters hockey game. Like all previous trips to the suite, it rocked. The food was good, beer was free, and seats right at center ice. The Q does a great job with its sports venues as I get pumped to go every time. Bonus on Wednesdays for everyone else in the Q, it was it's very first $1 10 oz. beer night. I really hope this promotion sticks because I do like beer.
Now outside of sports I most recently went to the Q for an AC/DC concert with 3 others. Of course the concert rocked, but for a veteran concert go-er, I thought that there was an echoing effect. Although this was annoying, I am pretty much blaming it on the location of my seats and the fact that I was being way too anal. The other 3 in my group noticed nothing and are begging me to get tickets for another concert. I'd beg too if the tickets were on someone else's dime.
The location of the arena is great. Right smack dab in the downtown area, surrounded by bars and restaurants all within walking distance or a short cab ride. Cleveland is slowly becoming a place to visit on the weekends especially once the casinos come to town. I personally don't gamble but know of friends and family that are already planning their trip from Michigan once they can play the slots and a little black jack.
I'm not going to comment on the food / beer prices because you see that everywhere. But the Q does have a Quaker Steak and Lube, B Spot, and plenty of other vendors to satisfy your hunger needs.
