| - Monta Chaya falls #3 on my list of preferred ramen joints in Vegas and one of the last on my list in all the ramen places ever tried. I've had ramen coast to coast and there is nothing really mind blowing about this place. It really boils down to comfort, convenience, and a quick meal.
My go-to has been the sho-yu ramen, which is comprised of a clear broth of soy sauce and chicken stock. Not too salty at all! Usually, I am miso ramen kinda gal, but the miso and tonkotsu ramens here are a bit disappointing. At first the $6.95 price point seems like a steal, but after adding toppings (egg $1.50 and nori $0.75)...it becomes $9+
Two pieces of chashu come with each bowl of ramen and I must say...it is on the small size; however, it is buttery and melts in your mouth!
Ramen is the perfect remedy for hangovers, colds, and rainy days. When the ramen craving hits, you can find me at other joints for sure. Thank you Monta Chaya for hitting the spot after an indecisive drive down Eastern Ave. Definitely, cured my hangry-ness.
