I took my dog into South Valley Animal Hospital because I just moved to Vegas and I was worried because my dog wasn't eating. I have fed my dog raw since I've had her due to a vaccination reaction that made her allergic to rice, among other problems it caused. I ended changing her food to a new raw food company when I moved, she wasn't eating like herself and I was worried because she never had a problem with food before, in-fact she normally gobbles her food up. Looking back, I feel, that she may have been going through a depression.
Coming from the Bay Area I am always looking into a more holistic approach for my family and my animals. The vet literally told me how bad raw was for dogs and she tried to pin some crappy food that they sell...making me not feel the greatest about my decisions and made me want to run out of their as fast as I could. I ended up going back to the primal pet raw before we moved and she's back to being a happy camper!
I called my vet from the Bay and I was reassured my decision to feed raw was the right one and if my dog is extremely healthy then why change it! It's unfortunate that you would try to scare patients into thinking raw is bad for your dog. Especially when the raw is balanced!
