| - Engine coolant, a very important thing here in Arizona and also very important to use a quality product. I bought my MDX from Acura of Peoria a little over a year ago, so wanted to bring it there for service also. Had a little glich with the first oil change, but after a few phone calls and another trip in to redo it, I thought all was ok. Not so.
I always check over my own car to make sure everything is working ok and that all the fluids are where they are supposed to be. So recently when I did that, I was surprise to see that the engine coolant was a light blue color(kind of looked like wind shield wiper fluid) I am no mechanic, but I know that engine coolant is supposed to be a yellowish /green color. This was clearly not that, so I brought it to another Acura Dealership to have it checked, since I really didn't trust Acura of Peoria to look at it. Imagine my surprise when they told me that it was after-market Honda engine coolant.
I don't own a Honda, I own an Acura and brought it to an Acura dealership for service. I bought an Acura for a reason. It is a higher end vehicle. So I want and expect Acura parts and products to be put in my Acura. Not an after market cheap brand so they can save money. We are in Arizona, where temperatures get over 100 degrees and vehicles can easily overheat. This is just bad, cheap service and I give anyone a warning who goes there for service. You better have another mechanic look at it afterwards to make sure things were done right and that they are using quality products on your vehicle.
